Canada Cuts Out President Trump's 'Home Alone 2' Cameo During Christmas Re-Run

By Gary Trock

Canada just made a yuuuge mistake after cutting out President Donald Trump's beloved cameo from the 1992 Christmas classic, "Home Alone 2: Lost In New York." The Canadian Broadcast Corporation, like every other network, has been airing the Macaulay Culkin flick, except the CBC has one difference -- no Trump.

The scene is well known -- after Kevin McAllister gets separated from his family and ends up in NYC he runs into Trump in the lobby of the famed Plaza Hotel. Kevin asks for directions to the hotel lobby and Trump points him in the right direction.

"Down the hall, to the left, the future President of the United States of America says before walking away and then doing a double-take at his young co-star.

After the CBC aired "Home Alone 2," many users on Twitter realized Trump's scene was gone.

"Make no mistake, they sanitized the Trump scene out of Home Alone because it does the most dangerous thing of all: It humanizes him," one Trump supporter voiced over Twitter.

"Don’t agree with Trump? Ok, cool, whatever fine by me

But there is nothing political about his scene in Home Alone This was cut bc they can’t show him being friendly and personable in a classic Christmas film They want us angry and divided not united and working together," another commented.

Others pointed out that Trump had just mentioned his role in the film while speaking during a conference call on Christmas Eve to members of the military who are stationed overseas.

After hearing the outcry, CBC issued a statement and tried to quell any of the building political conspiracy theories surrounding nixing Trump's scene. An official for the network told CNN:

"As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, 'Home Alone 2' was edited for time. "The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. "These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected President."

Proud of the Cameo

Just hours before the Canadian airing of "Home Alone 2," Trump was asked about the role during a conference call with members of the military.

"A lot of people mention it every year, especially around Christmas. They say ... especially young kids ... they say, 'I just saw you on the movie.' They don't see me on television as they do in the movie. But it's been a good movie, and I was a little bit younger, to put it mildly. And it was an honor to do it."

The President also added that the "Home Alone" sequel ended up being, in his opinion, one of the biggest holiday movies ever.

"And it turned out to be a very big hit, obviously. It's a big Christmas hit -- one of the biggest. So it's an honor to be involved in something like that, you always like to see success."
