Did Blake Shelton Propose to Gwen Stefani This Christmas?

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have said in the past they plan on taking things slow. However, did the holiday cheer motivate Shelton to move things along and propose? Fans have speculated about when the two love birds would tie the knot. A source that is close to Shelton even shared that he's wanted to propose for a while.

"Blake was very serious about Gwen right from the start, and early on he thought about proposing," the source said to People.

However, the couple remain boyfriend and girlfriend opposed to fiances after this holiday season. The reason that the couple have been pushing off wedding talk is because Stefani's religion currently prohibits her. As a Catholic, she cannot marry Shelton after her previous marriage with rock star Gavin Rossdale. Their marriage ended in August 2015, not too long after Stefani and Shelton got together.

However, just because religion has barred them from getting married, it doesn't it hasn't played a role in their relationship. "Gwen and Blake held hands and were so sweet with each other at the Church. They hugged and kissed during the peace offering," the source told RadarOnline.com. "Both were generous with their giving at the service and Blake even handed money to her older son Kingston to put in the basket."

Stefani and Shelton attended the mass with her children Kingston Rossdale and Appolo Bowie Flynn Rossdale.

"She held her son Apollo in her arms during the service. It was cute," they said, adding that Apollo "looked adorable in a black and white striped blazer, all dressed up for Christmas."

The couple also spent Thanksgiving together. The Stefani family joined in on the Shelton family tradition of spending Thanksgiving in Oklahoma. The couple had a great time even making a turkey together.

"We all fly out to Oklahoma, like 30 of us," Stefani previously told the outlet. Blake has this bed and breakfast hotel that we all stay at, and it’s just pretty incredible. We have fun, we all cook together. It’s fun."

"This’ll be … I wanna say the fourth [year], but it might be more than that," Shelton added. "We’re taking all the Stefanis and then the Shelton bunch are gonna meet up there and just literally [spend] like, five days away."
