Cardi B Had a Dancehall-Themed Party for Her 29th Birthday

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, popularly known as Cardi B, turned 29 on Monday, 11 October 2021. Ever since she stepped into the entertainment industry, the American rapper has proven to be one of the best female rappers in the U.S., taking over the world by a storm, one hit after the other.

The "WAP" hitmaker planned a Jamaican 90s dancehall-themed party called Passa Passa to commemorate her 29th birthday. She requested all attendees to grace the party with their best dancehall fashion. The superstar confirmed the party via a tweet on Sunday, "Yes it's true! The Dress code is dancehall! Bring out ya best Caribbean Dancehall looks!"

Cardi B also uploaded a video of Pretty Vee in a dancehall outfit performing "Ting-A-Ling" by Shabba Ranks.

Vee donned colorful dancehall-style clothes while announcing the party to Cardi B's followers and fans. Cardi B captioned Vee's video, "I can't wait for my birthday passa passa party!!!Ya think LA ready?!!

Cardi promised to battle Vee during the party.

The mother-of-two is unarguably a big fan of dancehall music. Her love for dancehall could be partly because of her heritage.

The multi-award-winning rapper has Black Trinidad and Dominican heritage. She revealed she was Richie Spice's biggest fan in 2019 at the BET Awards. Cardi B also grew up listening to a lot of dancehall music in the Bronx. She has released various songs with dancehall artists throughout her career.

During her 28th birthday in 2020, she posted a video wining up and dancing to veracious dancehall music, including Popcaan's "My Type", Vybez Kartel's "Fever", and Richie Spice's "So Mi Like It". Cardi B was twerking on the floor, wall, with her husband, Offset.

The internet celebrity had a small party on Sunday with her husband and a few of her friends. The "UP" rapper received a ton of birthday gifts during the ceremony, with the most notable one being from his husband.

Offset, her husband and also a member of the Migos rap group, gifted Cardi B an elegant diamond necklace by Eliantte. He also surprised Cardi with a pair of pink, wooly slippers when they reached home.

Offset also posed with Cardi B wearing the necklace and other diamond bracelets and watches on both wrists ahead of the small ceremony on Sunday. Offset showed off the diamonds on his Instagram story on Sunday. The diamond necklace featured a playboy bunny pendant, and smaller bunnies hung around it.

One of Cardi B's closest friends who attended the party, T Stylez, gifted her a gray fur coat, ideal for cold and chilly nights in New York. The 29-year-old rapper shared more photos of the coat on her Instagram story on Monday. The caption read, "When ya'll see me wear this coat and it's not really cold outside, don't be like, 'It's not even cold outside. 'B***h, everything for fashion. I don't give a f**k. I need to put this s**t on now."
