Mary, A Cult Leader?

Some of the drama that went down was, of course, captured on camera and the man responsible for the public accusations is Cameron Williams who met up with Barlow where he shockingly said he was in a cult run by Cosby.

“Is it a cult? Yes. Does she call herself ‘God’? Yes,” said Williams. When asked by PageSix what she believes, Barlow claims, “I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so, I’ve never really thought too much about what happens at Mary’s church because church is a choice — and people choose to go there.”

The diplomatic answer comes after the mom of two already went fishing for dirt on the church. She sticks by Williams because he has claimed to have experienced and overcome “spiritual trauma” from Cosby’s church.

‘I Believe His Feelings’

Barlow reiterated to the publication that Williams is a man that she is inclined to believe because of his character. “I believe him. I believe his feelings,” she said. “I believe he was an amazing person. I believe he had an amazing heart. It’s important for people to hear his side and what he went through because it might be healing and helpful for people to hear what Cameron said to me.”

Other members of Cosby’s church have also come forward to make similar claims against the place of worship and Cosby.

Manipulates & Lies

The Daily Beast spoke with a few former members of the congregation, and they made some scathing accusations against Cosby. They claim she refers to herself as “God” and asks that her clergy do so as well.

Some members made claims that Cosby manipulated them into working for her like slaves in her many homes or at the family businesses for a very small amount of pay or none at all. In a preview for the Bravo show, Barlow claims that members of the church were accusing Cosby of reprimanding them like children for not tithing enough.

There are also accusations that the money from tithings is actually going to funding Cosby’s lavish lifestyle with her step-grandfather/husband and that is why she is so adamant about the congregation keeping up with their weekly donations.

Where Does The Money Go?

Fans have gotten a peek into Cosby’s closet, and it is so lavish and full of a lot of random things among very expensive designer clothes and shoes that even she joked she could live in it. But knowing what they know now, they are beginning to believe that these designer clothes are paid for with church donations and using social media to voice their concerns.

She has already addressed some of the scandals in the latest season of the show. Cosby insisted that her money comes from businesses that her grandmother passed down to her. They include restaurants, real estate, and a few other smaller side hustles.

Barlow, however, is having a harder time believing that one. “When you care about your friends, you listen to your friends. So, I heard everything Cameron said to me. You will see it in upcoming episodes. He was a remarkable person to the point that there are billboards all over Utah saying what a great person he was.”

She maintains, “I’m not judging anyone. I don’t like to do that,” but the allegations against Cosby are just too damming for her to let slide apparently.
