News broke on Tuesday that Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice are separating after 20 years of marriage. While the couple had insisted previously that they were going to stand by each other, the pressure finally got to the best of their marriage.

While there are many apparent reasons why the two may be separating such as the impact Joe's arrest and deportation has had on the family, [PopCulture] ( reported that last night's episode of 'RHONJ' showed that Joe may blame Teresa for the strain in their relationship.

"He blamed me yesterday," Teresa Giudice said of Joe. "He said, 'Why didn't you make me an American citizen?'" Joe was deported after his arrest since he was born in Italy and never became a citizen despite marrying Teresa who was born in the U.S.

Joe had told his wife, "Listen, all you had to do was pick up a phone and call a lawyer," to which she responded, "Right, so then why didn't you do it? Why is it on me now?"

Gia Giudice, Teresa's oldest daughter, consoled her visibly upset mother.

"He's just speaking out of his a —, ma," Gia said of her dad. "He's going crazy. That place is a s—hole. My dad is stuck in a two-by-two with five people. I don't know what the hell to do."

She revealed that she is still very much in touch with her father: "He called me five times right now and every single one of his hopes are getting denied and he can't live with it."

While Joe and Teresa serving jail time presented hardships to the family, they knew they would ultimately be together again. Since Joe wasn't an American citizen, ICE was able to use the arrest to deport him back to Italy. The deportation stripped away the possibility of the family living together again, and it has presented a new insurmountable strain.

"It's like, it's so sad. I'm trying everything," Giudice vented on the show. "I'm hanging in there. I cry at night when I'm by myself."

"What's so painful of me, the past five years, our family has been ripped apart," she continued. "We haven't been together on holidays. Joe has missed the girls growing up, and that's something that we can't get back."

Teresa and her four daughters visited Joe in Italy in November after the taping of the show. While the family seemed to enjoy their time together in Italy, it, unfortunately, wasn't enough to save Joe and Teresa's marriage. Teresa also claimed after that visit that she wouldn't be going back.
