In an interview with the BBC network, George Clooney slammed Donald Trump and expressed his sincere wish that he will never be elected to the highest office in the land again.
Trump Is A Knucklehead
Clooney, 60, criticized Trump for lacking the necessary qualities to be elected as president of a country as powerful as the USA. During a recent sit-down interview on the BBC’s The Andrew Marr Show, ‘The Batman and Robin’ actor labeled the former US president, 75, a “knucklehead.” He also stated that he believes Trump “is going to remain a problem for a while” even though he has been voted out of office.
This comes months after the outrageous acts of violation and damage to public property by Trump supporters upon hearing that he shall no longer head the president’s office. The actions by the violators were initiated, supported, and appreciated by the former president, Trump, who was then immediately subjected to global backlash pertaining to the same.
Troubling Personalities And Troubling Times
“He’s going to be a factor for a while. A troubling one, if I may add. It’s so funny because he was just this knucklehead. I knew him before he was the president. He was just a guy who was chasing girls,” George said in the interview. “Every time we went out, he would come over and be like, ‘What’s the name of that girl?’.”
“He’s going to play this out for a while and we will see where we go with it as a country,” he continued after explaining that he thinks ‘a lot of things have to be repaired’ in America following Trump’s presidency. “There’s a lot of healing that has to happen and it’s going to take time.”
Will George Head Any ‘Office’?
“My hope is we have a little better sense than before to do things in a better way than we did before,” the two-time Academy Award winner said. In contrast to Trump, George, a father of two, tackled the elephant in the room-whether he will run for office. “No, because I actually would like to have a nice life,” he replied.
“I turned 60 this year and I had a conversation with my wife [lawyer Amal Clooney] and we were working a lot, as we both do, and I said we have to think of these as the halcyon years. If we have our health, which we do, and I’m 60 and I can still play basketball and do the things I love.”
Years Passing By
George also commented on how he feels now that time is passing by and he has new projects lined up.
“But in 20 years I will be 80 and that’s a real number,” he added. “It doesn’t matter how much you work out, what you eat, the truth will be that you’re 80 and so I said we have to make sure we enjoy and live these years in the best possible way.”
As he continues to pursue great acting and directing career, George emphasized his desire to spend time not just with his wife, but also with his four-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.
