Marvel is famous for turning comedians into studs. They've already done it with stars like Chris Pratt and Paul Rudd, and now we know that Kumail Nanjiani has joined the club. The comedian took the world by storm yesterday after revealing how ripped he'd gotten for his role in Marvel's "The Eternals."

In the caption for the post, Kumail was careful to explain that he'd gotten plenty of help from a team of professionals to make this transformation. Without them, he said it wouldn't have been possible.

The caption also explained that Marvel's deep pockets helped make this possible. "I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world," the comedian wrote. "I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time."

The former "Silicon Valley" star was clear that it took a village for him to train.

Fans had strong reactions to Nanjiani's new, buffer self. After posting the photo, he became a trending topic around the world for his new physique. His wife, Emily V. Gordon, also weighed in several times to make it clear how she felt about her husband's transformation.

"My husband works hard for every role he takes, but he's worked hard in many new ways for this one," she wrote on Twitter. "I'm so proud of him. I always have been. Also, we spent the majority of this past weekend playing Borderlands 3 so don't think he's changed too much."

In responding to comments from other people on social media Gordon also made it clear that she was enjoying the benefits of her husband's new form. The writer made it clear that she feels like a winner, prompting fans to ask her whether she thanks Marvel chief Kevin Feige every day for giving Kumail a reason to get in shape.

Given that it often feels like we live in a society designed to objectify women, it's nice to see the tables turn every once in a while.

"The Eternals" is currently set for a November 2020 release, and will be part of Marvel's fourth phase. In addition to Nanjiani, the film is also set to star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, and Salma Hayek.

It'll be directed by Chloe Zhao, and will be set long before the rest of the Marvel movies. Nanjiani will be playing a character called Kingo. Now that he's a superhero, the Pakistani-American comedian decided he wanted to look like one, and set the internet on fire in the process.
