Hope Solo is soon to be a mom. The 38-year-old former professional soccer player announced the news that she was pregnant with twins during a segment on the Dec. 16 episode of "beIN SPORTS Weekend Winners," which she was co-hosting. Solo was clearly incredibly happy — she was grinning the entire time she made the announcement.

"Yes, my husband and I get to practice equality from the very beginning with one boy and one girl," Solo explained to the show's audience.

Her husband is former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens. In the clip, Solo continued by saying "Miniature soccer team on the way." Stevens may fight for his kids to play football instead, but we'll have to see who prevails.

The clip of the announcement was making the rounds on Twitter soon enough, and Solo herself actually retweeted it, adding a couple of baby emojis to build up the excitement. She's clearly thrilled by the news, and she has every right to be.

Less than two years ago, Solo revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage with twins in February of 2018. She revealed the news during an interview with Elle, and said that she had suffered the tremendous loss while running for president of the United States Soccer Federation.

Solo had been trying to get pregnant for a long time at that point, and she wasn't aware that she was carrying twins until she went to the doctor the week after she miscarried.

Solo continued by explaining that the pregnancy had actually been considered ectopic. "The doctor said I was hours from dying,” she told Elle in the interview. "They ended up having to remove my fallopian tube."

Despite that incredible hardship, Solo revealed that she had been trying in vitro fertilization, and now, it looks like her continued efforts have paid off. Based on the clip, she's clearly thrilled to be pregnant, and we couldn't be happier for her, especially considering how hard the road has been.

Solo and Stevens have been married since 2012, and as two professional athletes, they know what it means to have endurance. Hopefully, they can take that knowledge and apply it to their twins when they arrive. Otherwise, they may find themselves outmatched.

We don't yet know the due dates for her twins, but she may yet reveal that information. If not, we'll see them when they arrive and rock Solo and Stevens's worlds. If any parents are ready for it, they are.
