As Britney Spears is looking forward to starting her life afresh with the hopeful dissolution of her conservatorship next month, some areas of her life are expected to remain the same.
According to reports, whether or not the conservatorship is completely removed, the custody arrangement of her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, is set to remain the same. At least for a long time.
Her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, told the publication that the former couple would continue their initial custody arrangement due to the boys’ being teenagers.
Kaplan noted that the boys are old enough to decide in court about what’s best for them, and since they are at a stable age, there’s no point adjusting their current situation if it’s not broken.
The attorney shared that everyone is happy about the current arrangement, and given that the boys require less supervision from each parent, it makes sense that everything stays the same.
Federline’s Thoughts On Her Conservatorship
Earlier this week, Kaplan spoke to People Magazine about what his client thought about the removal of Jamie Spears as Britney’s conservator. He explained that Jamie’s absence would improve the relationship between the singer and her sons.
For a long time, Britney had blamed her father for playing a significant role in her not seeing her sons, following his infamous altercation with son Sean in 2019 and an eventual restraining order filed by Federline.
However, Kaplan noted to the outlet that the rapper, also known as K-Fed, is on board with the complete removal of the conservatorship as long as their sons are safe. In his words:
Obviously, we don’t know whether the conservatorship will be continued, but as long as the boys are properly supervised and safe, and Britney is able to do that without the presence of a conservator, he’s happy.
For quite some time, the custody arrangement between the former couple allows Britney to see her sons whenever she wants to and also whenever they desire to see their mother.

A Rare Appearance
The news about the sustained custody arrangement comes days after the teenagers made a rare social media appearance. As The Blast previously reported, Sean and Jayden were seen posing with their dad’s friend, Eddie Morales, who they refer to as uncle.
In the photo shared on Morales’ page, the boys looked super grown up as they flagged their uncle on both sides. Both boys donned matching black shirts, with Sean opting for lime green pants while Jayden navy blue pants.
