That "Big Daddy" reunion we've all been waiting for has finally happened. 20 years after they played father and son, Adam Sandler and Cole Sprouse came back together.

When Cole was just six, he shared the role of Sandler's adopted son with his brother Dylan in the movie "Big Daddy." The film tells the story of a man who adopts a child as a way to try to win back his girlfriend. It's a premise that probably wouldn't get made today.

Sprouse is now 27, and he reunited with Sandler, now 53, at the premiere of Sandler's new film "Uncut Gems." For Sandler, "Uncut Gems" is a pretty massive departure from the comedies that most people know the actor for.

In the film, he plays Howard Ratner, a jeweler and gambler who fights to pay off his numerous debts over the course of the film. The movie has received widespread critical acclaim, and some have said that it's the best performance of Sandler's career.

When he first read the script, Sandler only had one major problem with it, he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. His character has a mistress in the film, and the mistress's name in the original script was Sadie.

"That's my daughter's name!" Sandler said in the interview. "And I said, 'You can't have my daughter's name in this movie.'" That seems like a fair compromise, especially since "Uncut Gems" is a lot more adult than most of what Sandler does.

Sandler continued the interview by explaining that his two children, who are now 13 and 11, probably shouldn't see the movie until they're 60 or 70. "[There's] some dirty stuff, yes. I was filthy in this movie," Sandler explained. "And yes, it doesn't look great, but it's a good movie."

"Uncut Gems" could even factor into this year's Oscar race. Sandler has generated some buzz around his performance in the role and has even threatened to make a bad movie on purpose if he doesn't win for the role.

As for Sprouse, the actor is still working regularly in Hollywood, chiefly in his role as Jughead Jones on "Riverdale." Cole Sprouse is the rare child star who seems to be mostly well-adjusted as an adult, and he's also carried on an adorable relationship with "Riverdale" co-star Lili Reinhart for several years.

20 years after "Big Daddy," both actors seem to be thriving. They may not play father and son again any time soon, but that doesn't mean they can't be friendly offscreen.
