Liam Payne, former One Direction band member, has been quite open recently about everything from his opinions on his former band mates to his private life.

Clearly, the "Strip That Down" singer doesn't feel the need to keep anything to himself anymore and isn't holding back.

He even spoke about his strained relationship with Louis Tomlinson and compares himself to Harry Styles.

Perhaps the recent interviews are to drum up some publicity for his first solo album LP1 which recently dropped on December 6.

In his most recent interview with The Face Magazine, Liam was asked which One Direction member he would choose to take a walk down Old Kent Road with.

Liam responded, "To be honest with you, more than anyone, probably Harry. I speak to Louis quite regularly. I feel like I know where I stand with Niall. But with Harry, there’s so much mystery around who he’s kind of become. I was actually genuinely looking at some pictures of him the other day, and I just thought, “I don’t know what more I’d say to him other than, ‘Hello’ and ‘How are you?’. I mean, look at the stuff I put out, and the stuff Harry puts out. Polar opposite. I’m like the 'Antichrist' version of what Harry is."

He also wasn't shy when asked about Harry's appearance, with the magazine asking what he thinks of "the big trousers."

Liam responded, "Do you know what? For me, it’s a case of fair play to him for doing what he fucking wants. If he wants to wear one earring and go to the Met Gala wearing something unexpected, what of it? Fair fucking play. I couldn’t put myself in that. I’d look fucking… It’d look weird."

It's definitely obvious that the two former band mates have different styles, in clothing and music.

He Spoke About His Time In One Direction

Liam also spoke to The Guardian recently, describing tensions behind the scenes. He said, “At the start, we couldn’t get past our own egos. There would be fights over who got to sing what part, and even personal style. Everybody had their own little thing – it was like having four older brothers.”

He also claimed he was seen as the one to ground everyone, and felt he was labeled as "Mr. Boring."

Of one of the band's first hotel stays, he says, “We’ve got plates being thrown out the window, mattresses being ridden down the stairs, and I’m getting calls from the manager saying: ‘You need to sort it out’.”

He Claimed Staying In One Direction "Would've Killed Him"

Liam spoke on the Table Manners podcast back in October, speaking even more candidly about his time in One Direction, and at one point claimed staying in the band "would've killed him."

He recalled, “There’s no stop button. You’ve got no control over your life. That’s why I lost complete control of everything.”

He continued, “You’re either going to end up a crazy child star who dies at whatever age, or you’re going to live life and actually get on with it.”

After the breakup of One Direction, many of the former members have been giving interviews, giving us quite an interesting insight into what was going on behind closed doors.

Clearly, Liam Payne has no problem being candid about their struggles.
