Teri Hatcher has shown off her slamming new body. The “Desperate Housewives” star took to Instagram this week shortly after her 55th birthday to show off an impressive bikini body that’s the result of the eight-week fitness challenge Teri has just wrapped up.
Teri gave fans the full low-down, image-wise. The actress posted photos of herself in an itsy-bitsy two-piece from the front and the back, with muscly arm-poses accentuating her ripped biceps and sculpted shoulders.
To be fair, the entire picture was showing Hatcher looking fantastic.
Teri’s photo came accompanied by a lengthy caption outlining exactly what she’d been through (and how she feels).
“Exercise has become a source of well being not a means to look good naked. As part of my [F45 Training] 8-week challenge we had to submit an after photo. So why actually post a pic of myself in a bikini? Well, this is my truth and being in this 55-year-old body actually feels liberating,” Teri wrote as she proudly posed for the camera.
It looks like it’s taken Teri 55 years to finally feel great just how she is.
“Here’s the thing. I’ve finally figured out how to be comfortable in my own skin. Maybe not every day but a lot of them,” Teri admitted.
“Age allows you to be clear on your purpose and cherish who and what you are grateful for. You have enough age to see the miracle of life and enough youth to revel in that knowledge. You can be vulnerable and strong at the same time. You can forgive others and yourself. You are willing to put in the effort to reach a goal…or not. And that’s okay. Mostly, you know to make the most of every moment,” she concluded.
Bikini posts might be a dime a dozen on celebrity Instagram accounts, but Teri’s snap came captioned with words suggesting that this swimwear piece isn’t guaranteed to make another appearance.
“Sharing myself in a bikini (which I may or may not ever wear again) Is me Being open to others, open to life… finding glorious connection and community. No filters, no makeup, no airbrushing, no negativity,” Teri told her followers.
The update currently sits at over 34,000 likes. Of course, celeb Insta-stalking queen Lisa Rinna noticed it and left Teri a like.
Yes, it sounds almost military. The F45 workout (that isn’t an AK-47) sounds fairly grueling, according to the plan’s website.
“Functional training is the engagement in exercises that mimic or recreate everyday movement. These types of exercises typically involve the use of your full body and multiple muscle groups. This style of training builds and sculpts lean, functional muscle. Lifting, squatting, jumping, twisting, pulling, pushing, punching, kicking, rowing, biking – all of these movements qualify as functional and all can be found at F45 Training…”
The list of ultra-ripped, age-defying, and 50+ celebrities seems never-ending these days. Queen bee, Jennifer Lopez seems to lead the way with her muscle machine of a body, although she isn’t alone. Actress Halle Berry joins her, with television host Kelly Ripa almost part of the club – Kelly is 49.
Elsewhere, we’ve got Lisa Rinna (a.k.a. Instagram’s 56-year-old bikini queen), plus Madonna, although the queen of pop is slightly less sinewy than she was about a decade ago.
