Kanye West was THIS close to being the musical guest alongside maybe, soon to be ex-wife Kim Kardashian on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Unfortunately, the epic appearance will not be happening.
The official musical guest is Halsey on the October 9 episode of SNL, who is equally as exciting but the vibe between Kardashian and the rapper would have been interesting to observe.

What Happened?
“Weeks and weeks ago when they were getting Kim to do the show, they threw around the possibility of him to be the musical guest, those discussions didn’t make it very far,” shared a source with Hollywoodlife.com.
Apparently, one of the people eager to throw around the idea was Michael Che, staff writer, and host of “The Weekend Update” segment. Of course, he didn’t expect the “Jail” rapper to do it but they made sure to ask because you never know with Mr. West.
That being said, it doesn’t seem like that was a definite no, and fans of the controversial rapper know he is prone to storming the stage at the most inappropriate of times. Plus, it would be cool to see him perform some tracks off of DONDA.

Kim Is Ready… Kind Of
As for the mom of four, she is “very nervous” but is focused on crushing the spirit of the haters who only had negative things to say about her evolving past a reality star these last few years. “She wants to prove to herself and any haters that it was worth it for her to be asked to do the show.”
It’s obvious that Kardashian is not the typical host for the late-night sketch comedy show but, asking her to host isn’t a total shock. The OG influencer comes with her own following and she is sure to bring the ratings, even by that only watching to live-tweet their skepticism.
The source revealed that the Skims co-founder is desperate “to knock it out of the park.” West showing up could be a positive presence for the reality star ad aid in her doing just that. In addition to rumors about West, there are also rumors about her sisters and mom Kris Jenner.
Family Support?
It’s almost expected that Kardashian’s famous sisters will be in the audience this is kind of a big deal after all. Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are usually there to support everything their ambitious sister does along with Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
They may have to get ready to be roasted though because ‘no joke is off the table’. She apparently shared with the writing staff, “that any idea is a good idea, and they can absolutely present her anything and she is willing to make fun of herself and she has mentioned that nothing is off-limits.”
Will Kanye Be There Anyway?
Chances are, even if the rapper is not getting the opportunity to accompany Kardashian on stage, he will probably still be in attendance. The “Off The Grid” rapper has been seen out and about with Kardashian way more than two people who are allegedly breaking up would normally spend time together.
They were recently seen out in Malibu having lunch WITHOUT the kids. Let’s not forget that the 40-year-old also appeared in a wedding dress in a DONDA album performance. The bond is clearly strong between these two.
