Selma Blair posted what she thought as a fun video with her son, but it ended up forcing her to tears after trolls hijacked the comments. In the clip, Blair is driving her son to school and she is clearly trying to embarrass I’m by recording herself saying, “I’m making a video!” repeatedly.
“I’m making a VIDEO!! My son loves VIDEOS! Why doesn’t he love mine too? A Monday VIDEO! What? I am a FUN MOM! Who makes VIDEOS!!. I also have a neck waddle. I need to make a VIDEO of me working out! That is what I gathered from this very ViDEO!!!!!” she wrote.
“Also, please note his priceless expression at end. You are welcome. #video #weirdo. (he is shaking his head. Oh my ). Also, camera movement is deceptive. I am on driveway and then phone off for the two judge mental people. Typo. Staying.”
“Are you supposed to be driving in your condition? I know you at least shouldn’t be on your phone posting a video while backing out,” one commented wrote.
That, and other comments, apparently prompted Blair to record and post another since-deleted video in which she addressed the trolls.
“I posted a video today — just how I am in a moment, having fun with my son as he cringes,” she said while fighting back tears. “And there were a couple of really nasty people, and it hurts.”
“There are so many other smiles and people that got it and knew I was being safe and not driving, as I’m on my driveway,” she continued. “And it just really hit me. So for all the people that get one of their three feelings hurt by someone online… it doesn’t matter. But it does, because I’m crying.”
The 47-year-old actress revealed last year that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She’s involved in several charities, including work with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
