This weekend marks the second episode of the new 47th season, of “Saturday Night Live.” Kim Kardashian is set to be the host, as she is also the first Kardashian to have this iconic position. In a clip of what’s to come on Saturday night, Kim was seen standing next to Cecily Strong, and Halsey, who is set to perform, later that night.
Kim opened the clip, with a brief intro, by welcoming viewers with”Hi, I’m Kim Kardashian West, and I’m hosting SNL this week with Halsey.” Strong also went on to ask the two, if they should all start their own girl group. This was met with an “absolutely not” reply, by Halsey. Kim jokingly said they already said no, when the idea was pitched, backstage.
Kim Was Asked If She Was Nervous About Hosting
In this clip, Strong went on to ask Kim if she was nervous about being this week’s SNL host. She then replied “Why? I don’t have to write sketches, do I? Memorize lines?” Halsey then revealed that cue cards would be used. The two then jokingly said how others won’t look just as good as Kardashian.
Social Media Reacts To What They Can Expect From Kardashian
On Twitter, there were a lot of mixed reactions, following the release of this SNL clip. Some believe that Kim hosting will be an interesting night, while others feel that she may not be qualified enough to host a legendary TV show, such as SNL.

Kanye West Has Reportedly Been Helping Kim Prepare For ‘SNL’ Hosting
Earlier this week, sources close to People stated that Kim was in fact feeling nervous about this hosting, contrary to what she said in this new clip, revealed by SNL.
“She’s both nervous and thrilled,” said a source to the outlet. “It’s a huge deal for her. She takes the hosting gig very seriously.”
It was also reported that Kanye West has been assisting Kim, in getting ready for SNL. This includes creating the opening monologue, as well as various outfits for the show.
“He’s giving her advice. She feels a lot of pressure. She wants to wow the audience.”
Kanye and Kim have been very cordial, ever since it was announced in early January, that they were filing for divorce. There’s also been speculation that the two may even reconcile soon.
Kanye also performed on SNL back, in 2018. At the time, he continued to wear the controversial Donald Trump MAGA hat, even during his performance. This wasn’t perceived well at all, as many felt that Kanye was using his platform in the wrong way, by supporting someone such as Trump.
