Former MMA-fighter turned actress Gina Carano might be more controversial than the “Star Wars” sequel films.

After appearing as Cara Dune in the Emmy-nominated Disney+ hit “The Mandalorian,” Dune found her character cut from the show in regards to comments that she made on her social media accounts.

A vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, many fans got #FireGinaCarano trending several times after she mocked mask-wearing and spread claims of voter fraud during the 2020 election. The tweets eventually cumulated in her being dropped as a client from UTA and Disney canceled plans for “Rangers of the New Republic,” in which Carano’s character was set to star.

However, Carano has several fans in her camp that insist that Carano is simply the victim of cancel culture and wish to see Carano return to season 4 of “The Mandalorian.” Among her supports is an unlikely ally: KISS bassist and co-lead singer Gene Simmons.

Wait…What?!

Who knew that Gene Simmons was a fan of “Star Wars”?

In a recent question and answer session, the 72-year-old recording artist called “The Mandalorian” “one of the best shows on TV.”

When asked what he thought of the show’s second season, Simmons replied, “They should have kept the chick even though she had different political points of view. It’s not about politics; it’s whether you’re a good actress.”

He later addressed his thoughts on cancel culture, adding, “You were talking earlier about Gina Carano, right? Look, political views, this whole cancel culture is so dangerous. The idea that people can’t speak their mind. That’s what freedom is all about. To lose your job because of something you said, even if I find it offensive, that’s…we’ve gotta look at that.”

Possible Season 4 Return?

Although filming for season 3 is already underway, rumors are swirling that Carano might be making a return to season 4. Amidst the speculation, Carano has continued to share her views on social media, this time questioning the legitimacy of vaccines.

In a recent Twitter post, Carano wrote, “when is enough going to be enough? The vaccine is obviously not for everyone. Check the Vaers report. I know someone who passed away from the vaccine as well. Healthy 56-year-old woman. The vaccine took her out in 3 days. These Biden mandates are murdering these people.”

Twitter flagged the post with a misleading tag almost immediately, which disables the post from being liked, replied to, or shared.

What Do Vaccines Have to Do With Her ‘Star Wars’ Return?

Another “The Mandalorian” star might have just used her opinions on vaccines to squash any hope of Cara Dune returning to a galaxy far, far away.

63-year-old actor Giancarlo Esposito, who is rumored to play Moff Gideon throughout all four seasons of the show, told unvaccinated co-workers to stay away from movie and television sets.

In a recent interview, Esposito said, “If you don’t want to vaccinate, go to a small island and sequester yourself. [Otherwise] you’re saying ‘F—k you to all of you other human beings.’ We all have to do it if we want to live. I don’t understand how people don’t vaccinate.”

He added, “For me, I’ve lost dear friends, so I know it’s real. Not only in Europe but in America, friends who were completely healthy and uncompromised. The vaccine is the answer. I’m not downing anyone who doesn’t want to vaccinate. Don’t work. Go ride it out somewhere where you’re not going to compromise anyone else if you get it.”

Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” is set to stream sometime in 2022. Its sister series, “The Book of Boba Fett” will debut its first season on December 29, 2021.
