After rising to fame after the success of Netflix's popular series Bridgerton, Phoebe Dynevor reveals that she is now full of anxiety. It could be considered as a reflex when people seem to think that they aren’t capable enough or are inadequate and unworthy of what they have been given.
Fame Comes With Anxiety
Phoebe has had a taste of fame; however, it is only after the popular series has made a global impact, that she says she is ‘scared of failure’. “I don’t think anyone can handle that, the fear of failure. I worry about everything, and it is not easy to get through”, the 26-year-old actress told Harper’s Bazaar Magazine.
Phoebe emphasized her deteriorating mental health and how she is constantly worried that she might let someone down. Being in the spotlight without healthy breaks for an extended period of time, she believes, is poisonous to one's mental health. "My stomach is in knots. I'm afraid of failing, disappointing someone, or going against my own beliefs. You can see how being in the spotlight affects your mental health."
How Is She Holding Up?
People have their own ways of coping and so does Phoebe. She comes out to be smart for recognizing that she needs to pay equal attention to her physical and mental well-being along with trying to balance it with all the incoming fame.
Amongst all the unexpected turmoil, the English actress tries to find things that keep her grounded. "I meditate, I have a therapist, I walk every day. There are things I do to ground myself because it's quite hectic at the moment."
Too High Too Low
The young talent explains that even though she believes and agrees with the concept of life being a combination of ups and downs, more often than not, the highs are too high and the lows are too low.
On speaking about how she deals with this uneven wave, she said that she seeks a middle ground. "It's finding that middle ground and centering oneself and catering to one’s needs how one can really get through anything.”
I Want To Stay Sane
As for her upcoming projects and the nature of work that she wants to get along with, the Trafford grown-up said that she wants to catch hold of characters and stories that resonate with her. "It's really important for me and my sanity to work on projects that I love and develop characters that I think are really interesting. That is what I feel brings me excitement and the willingness to put forth my best.”
Wow, This Is Really Huge
The ‘Younger' star talked about her big breakthrough- Bridgerton and how she never felt the show could be so big until she started feeling it in her guts through loads of recognition on the giant streaming platform. "We were all in lockdown, stuck at home and nothing changed. In the first season, people were saying to me that this could be huge.”
Phoebe revealed how she felt self-conscious and how she thought if she stepped out in her pajamas, somebody would be taking pictures. "It was only when we started being able to leave the house again and there were photographers outside — which was really scary and that’s when I kind of knew that it was huge like really huge.”
