Actor John Stamos won fans over with his portrayal of cool Uncle Jesse on the hit series Full House. Throughout the series, viewers watched as Jesse went from bachelor to settling down with Lori Loughlin's character Rebecca Donaldson.

While Stamos' on-screen character had good luck in the romance department, in real life Stamos had a bit of bad luck.

After going through a divorce, Stamos found love again after the age of 50 when he met his wife Caitlin McHugh.

Let's take a look at John's road to finding happiness again.

In 1994, Stamos began dating model/actress Rebecca Romijn, who is nine years younger than Stamos.

After nearly four years of dating, Stamos and Romijn married in September 1998 in a ceremony with his Full House co-stars as guests.

John and Rebecca seemed like a couple in love, and he was a supportive husband as Rebecca's acting career took off. The actress scored the role of Mystique in the X-Men movies, which helped launch her acting career.

As for John, he continues to stay busy by scoring guest appearances in television shows.

While John and Rebecca seemed to be a perfect couple, behind the scenes things weren't happy with the couple.

In August 2004, Stamos filed for divorce from Romijn citing irreconcilable differences. A few months later in March 2005, their divorce became finalized.

No reason was given behind the divorce, and the two remained friendly despite their split.

Shortly after her split from Stamos, Rebecca began dating actor Jerry O'Connell, and the two married in July 2007. A little over a year later, Rebecca gave birth to the couple's twin daughters.

While his ex-wife Rebecca Romijn quickly moved on, for Stamos it'd be a while before he found happiness again.

The actor did date a few women, yet none of them seemed like they were serious relationships.

In 2016, John's career experienced a resurgence when he reprised his role as Uncle Jesse on Fuller House.

Not too long afterward he met model/actress Caitlin McHugh, a woman 23 years his junior. Despite the age difference, the couple was madly in love and soon they'd have plenty to celebrate.

In December 2017, the couple announced they were engaged and expecting a baby. For John, this was a dream come true because he'd been very vocal about wanting kids.

Two months after making their announcement, the couple married in February 2018. In April, Caitlin gave birth to their son Billy.

John is happy to be married and have a family. He talks about his wife and son whenever he can, and he even shares photos of little Billy on social media.
