“We knew how many years we wanted to get Gilmore done in — it didn’t work out [as we hoped] because we left [after Season 6], but it kind of worked out because we came back for the Netflix [revival],” Sherman-Palladino explained to TVLine during the same interview. “But we don’t know how many more seasons it will take to get [Maisel to the end].”

The 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' revival aired on Netflix in 2016 and only had 4 episodes.

Amazon Prime Video describes the comedic drama as a story focusing around Midge Maisel and how she found her purpose.

"In 1958 New York, Midge Maisel's life is on track- husband, kids, and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their Upper West Side apartment. But when her life takes a surprise turn, she has to quickly decide what else she's good at - and going from housewife to stand-up comic is a wild choice to everyone but her," the site's description reads.

In season 3, viewers can expect to watch Midge's comedy career grow while meeting new characters as per TVLine like Liza Weil (Gilmore Girls) Cary Elwes (Stranger Things), Stephanie Hsu (The Path) and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us).

In the trailer, Weil's character is introduced telling Midge, "You see the world, The audiences, when they're great are really great, and you're not having to go to your grave without having done anything interesting."

Season 3 of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' will air on December 6th.
