One of the toughest challenges facing celebrities, especially in the modern era, is maintaining their safety from people who are overly willing to invade their privacy for nefarious purposes, whether that's simply to stalk them or maybe even something worse. Kylie Jenner, given her abundant fame on all kinds of media, recently opened up about her concern with staying safe in the wake of the latest incident where a man by the name of Richard Eggers was apprehended after scaling the fence of Jenner's residence.

In voicing her concerns about the overall safety of herself and family, Jenner cited the constant coverage of her life as the reason why she consistently has to worry. While she did acknowledge that she knows what she 'signed up for', she still believes that there are certain places, like her home, that are off-limits for coverage, especially when its location is disclosed. On an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jenner stated, "I, literally, once a week have a stalker, maybe more, twice a week. Some show up at my house, every single day."

Because of the high frequency of instances that Jenner must deal with stalkers and intruders, she blasted TMZ for releasing the location of her home through her Twitter account ranting, "And how do you guys think these terrifying people know where my house is? cuz you release not only photos but my location. it is so beyond unsafe. is this not our one ounce of privacy we can get??? ...." Jenner continued by saying, "i understand what i’ve signed up for but when you release the exact location to where i live THAT is when you’re putting my life in danger. your home is your safe haven, but for me, cuz of outlets like you, my home is anything BUT. you should be ashamed of yourself."

The Cost of Security for High Profile People

The issue of safety is an important one, to everybody. Just recently, Kendall's sister, Kylie, spoke out about the cost of her security on a monthly basis. Based on her estimates, she stated that she spends approximately $400,000 per month in security alone. Is it money well spent? It'd be safe to say, yes. Had it not been for Kendall's security team at her residence, who knows what would have transpired. Luckily, she wasn't home at the time of the trespassing, but security was able to apprehend the intruder until the LAPD arrived.

It's no secret that celebrities choose to put themselves out in the public eye, at least in regard to gaining good PR, but unfortunately, it does come with some risks. And there will always be mentally ill people who will push the legal limits of what they can do to get close to those high-profile individuals. In his modern-day, celebrities have no choice but to pay an exorbitant amount of money for security. But, at the end of the day, it may just save their lives.
