Halle Berry was full of joy as she celebrated her son Maceo Robert Martinez on his 8th birthday. Maceo was born in Los Angeles on October 5, 2013.
Berry shares her son with French film actor Olivier Martinez, who she divorced in 2016. The former partners share joint custody of the 8-year-old, although Maceo lives with his mother.
Celebrating Her Baby Boy
On Tuesday, Berry took to Instagram to share an uncommon picture of the birthday celebrant with her followers.
In the photo, Martinez struck a pose in what seemed to be a scarecrow costume over camouflage print shorts and black and white striped socks.
The birthday boy completed his look with a moss green hat which he used to cover his eyes as he smirked at the camera. The Oscar winner captioned her tribute with,
“this little dude is 8 today! Happy Birthday THUNDER! [red heart emoji]”
In a comment, a fan wrote, “Even from this pic, you can tell he looks just like you… geesh.”

In January, Berry got candid about the importance of educating her son on challenging sexism in society while on a virtual panel hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The “Kidnapped” star said,
“I have realized what my job is in raising him. If we want to have a future that’s different, that is where it starts.”
Berry told fellow actress Robin Wright that she observed Martinez was taught to feel superior to girls at age 5, and she taught him to challenge those beliefs.
The proud mother said due to their conversations; she believes her son will “grow as a deep thinker on the subject.”
Berry’s Child Support Case
In March, The Blast reported that Berry had her monthly child support fees, which she owed her former husband Gabriel Aubry, reduced in half. The “Cat Woman” star and Aubry share 13-year-old Nahla Ariela.
Sources close to the situation said that the actress and Aubry negotiated a settlement after arguing over the amount.
From March 1, the mother-of-two will pay her ex $8,000 a month instead of the previous fee of $16,000 and her daughter’s private school tuition and health insurance.
The “X-Men” star will also pay Aubry extra child support if her earnings surpass $1.95 million in a given year and €5,000 for his attorney’s fees and costs.
The actress took to Instagram to express her frustrations about paying child support for over a decade with a photo that read, “Women don’t owe you s–t.”
Berry said that it was wrong for a woman or man to pay support fees above the child’s reasonable needs as both parents have financial responsibility.
Although parents sometimes need help, the movie director expressed that some use child support fees to live a lifestyle they did not earn.
Her Imperfect Life
In September, The Blast shared that Berry had a sit-down with the New York Times to promote her movie “Bruised” when she opened up about her struggles.
The “Monster’s Ball” star said she gets frustrated when people assume she has no “real-life experiences” because of how she looks.
The actress revealed how she lost 80% of her hearing in one ear after being hit by her boyfriend at the time.
Berry spoke on her loss, pain, and abuse, explaining that she used it to fuel her role in the emotionally tasking film “Bruised.”
