The fifth and final season of 'Fuller House' is set to premiere on Netflix on December 6th, and we'll be saying good-bye to the Tanner Family once and for all (we assume). While almost all of the cast members from the original 'Full House' have appeared at least once on the show the lone standouts have always been the Olsen Twins who both played the role of youngest Tanner daughter, Michelle. Although they've received multiple invitations to appear on the show, they both have turned down the opportunity.

Fans Have Held Out Hope

After the Olsen Twins turned down multiple offers to appear on 'Fuller House,' it has never looked very likely that audiences would ever get to see the return of Michelle Tanner. But that hasn't stopped fans from hoping that one of the Olsens might relent and make at least one token appearance on the show that made the twins world famous. And with the final season coming up, there was hope among the Tanner Family fans that maybe we might get a glimpse of the grown-up Michelle in the very last episode of the series.

Candace Cameron Bure Says It's Not Happening

Well, fans, if you thought you might get a glimpse of Michelle in the series finale, Candace Cameron Bure has confirmed that it won't be happening. In a recent interview with People Now, Cameron Bure was asked once more about whether we'd be getting a cameo from one of the Olsen Twins.

"No, I've been telling you about this since Season 1," she said.

Which to be fair, she has. Since the beginning of 'Fuller House,' Cameron Bure has been peppered with questions about the Olsens' return, and we've always received answers in the negative.

The Door Was Always Open

It seemed unbelievable that there would be no Michelle Tanner in a 'Full House' spin-off. After all, the littlest Tanner girl was one of the biggest stars of the show and it caused the Olsen Twins' careers to take off.

Despite the Mary-Kate's and Ashley's refusals, the cast always left the door open to the two in case they changed their minds.

In order to explain Michelle's noticeable absence on the show, the story goes that Michelle now lives in New York building a fashion empire (a nod to the Olsens' current fashion career). Periodically, other characters would visit her offscreen.

It's Not Very Surprising

To be honest, it's not altogether surprising that neither Mary-Kate nor Ashley Olsen had any interest in being on 'Fuller House.' Neither of them has done much acting in the last decade, having preferred to focus more on their careers in fashion. When you've been away from acting for that long, it's probably hard to get back into it. Their younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, is more the big-time actress these days.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen started out acting when they were literal babies, and continued to be child stars well into young adulthood. It's easy to see why they might want to do something else with their lives.
