Ariana Grande has been issued a 5-year restraining order against a man who showed up at her property with a large hunting knife and threatened to kill her.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, 'The Voice' judge's legal team was in an L.A. County Court this week, arguing the singer needs immediate and long-term protection from an obsessed fan, who has shown up announced to her home.
The alleged stalker failed to appear at the hearing, and the court found he was properly served with the restraining order. So, the hearing was conducted without his presence. During the hearing, a security guard working for the star detailed allegations against the man including the incident with a large knife.
Following the testimony, the court ruled the restraining order be issued for five years. It is set to expire on Oct 5, 2026.
Ariana Grande Claims She Is Scared For Her Life!
As we reported, the singer filed a restraining order against the man claiming he has been terrorizing her for months. In the documents, she says things got much worse at the beginning of September when she says the person pulled a "large hunting knife" on her private security while she was inside the house.
"I am informed that his visits were sporadic at first, but that in the last approximately two to three weeks, (He) has come to my home nearly every day, and sometimes multiple times a day. I am informed that on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at approximately 4:15 p.m., (He) was observed by my private security near my home. I am informed that my security asked him to vacate the area. I am informed that later that same evening, at approximately 10:20 p.m., while I was home, (he) was again observed near my home. I am informed that he became combative when asked to leave and displayed a large hunting knife,” it read.
Alleged Stalker Brandishes Large Hunting Knife At 'The Voice' Star's Home
Adding, "I am informed that he was brandishing a knife and yelling threatening statements, including stating to my security “I’ll f–king kill you and her.” I am informed that after a pursuit, (He) was detained by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. I am informed that those officers discovered a knife in Mr. Brown’s pocket."
It should be noted, the restraining order is an important part of any case involving obsessed fans of celebrities. This allows for police officers to arrest the person if they get anywhere near the star, even if they are not technically breaking any other laws by showing up at their home.
As you know, Ariana has been traveling from her home in Santa Barbara, CA to Los Angeles to film 'The Voice.'
Los Angeles Judge Issues Restraining Order For Next Five Years
"Based on his threats, I am fearful for my safety and for the safety of my family. I fear that absent a restraining order, (He) will continue to come to my home and attempt to physically harm or murder me or members of my family,” Grande insisted.
In the end, a judge agreed and issued the lengthy restraining order against the man. At this point, we are choosing not to name the suspect in question.
