Rami Malek has some interesting details about the time he talked to Kate Middleton and more!
The Mr. Robot actor, 40, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, where he talked about his new film, No Time To Die, co-starring Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas. While there, he also recalled his last encounter with Prince William and Kate Middleton, who were present at the movie's world premiere in London at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 28.
Meeting The Royals
Malek saw the royal couple at the BAFTA Awards in February 2019. At the time, he was being honored for best actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Prior to attending premieres, Malek revealed that the Duke and Duchess come prepared as they do "their homework" about the filmography of actors. But when Middleton was asked about herself, she was "taken aback."
Asking Personal Questions
"I just looked at Princess Kate at one point, and I said, 'This must be exhausting.' And she said, 'Why?'" the Oscar winner told the TV host, 53. "[I asked,] 'You just had a baby, right?' I think she was taken aback." The actor was referring to the couple's youngest child, Prince Louis, who at the time was only 10 months old.
"[Kate] said, 'How are you doing?' [I'm like,] 'No, how are you?' And in the most regal, elegant way, she gave me a look. But you can tell. Imagine, you're dressed to the nines, have to talk to all these actors," Malek said.

He added, "They're so careful. But it was so cool. I think I caught her off guard for a second. And, you know, had that look of—in the most elegant, professional, royal way—'Yes, it's a lot, having a kid.'"
Offering His Services
The Primetime Emmy Awardee also revealed that he offered the Duchess babysitting her child, the newborn Prince Louis in particular so that she and the Duke could have a couple's night out. However, Middleton didn't take him up on the suggestion.
"The funniest thing about that was, I said, 'If you ever need a day off, some time off, I'm back up for you,'" Malek recounted. "She's like, 'What do you mean?' I go, 'I can babysit, you guys go out, have a good time.'"
How The Royals Reacted To The Film
On Monday, the actor spoke about how he approaches his interactions with the royals.
"For me, I just try to treat them like I would anybody else. I'm sure a dose of normality is probably something that is quite refreshing to them," he told Entertainment Tonight.
While at the premiere, Malek got the chance to sit behind the royals for the screening of No Time to Die.
"I got to gauge their reaction from their body language," he stated. "Definitely not going to put words in their mouths, but yeah, they seemed pretty taken aback by the film."
During the show, Malek also shared that he and Craig got close over filming the new movie, saying that they've "become really good friends." He also recalled the time they met on set, where the British actor, 53, told him something "weird" while putting his arms around Malek.
No Time To Die hits theaters this Friday, October 8.
