Cancel Culture is a practice that occurs between celebrities and fans whereby the popular figure loses the regard people have for him/her.

It often happens when the figure has done something that does not seem right to his/her followers and supporters. The cancel culture involves people not coming through for your brand anymore. So many celebrities fall back to the ground when they are canceled.

At some point, Stone came to express her disapproval of the Cancel Culture. According to an online magazine, she referred to the culture as the “most stupid thing she has heard of,” but later retracted her statement.

One of them was her profound reaction when her colleague, Franco, was canceled because he was accused of committing a crime.

The allegations against Franco were that he was involved in sexual misconduct with five women. The women, on different occasions, said that the actor/filmmaker took advantage of their readiness to work and be part of a big project.

One of the accusers also said that they were all up-and-coming actresses and that they had high hopes for their careers.

According to these accusers, they didn't deny the fact that they needed that breakthrough in their careers, which was why they collaborated with the actor. Stone's comments came up after the accusations were made against her colleague and she was not happy with the matter.

During an interview with Marc Maron via a podcast, she addressed how she truly felt regarding the issue.

She confirmed that she has worked with the actor in question and that he is a kind, lovely, and professional person.

She was shocked at how he was easily regarded as a bad person. She went further to address the accusers, saying that they should be held accountable for whatever allegations they make.

A Hollywood reporter said that the accusers later denounced their claims after reaching an agreement with the actor to pay $2.2 million.

On the same podcast with Maron, Stone discussed the issue of harassment, including the cases whereby she was directly involved in the past.

She noted that she didn't allow the men to go scot-free, neither did she make a fuss about it online, but dealt with them privately. She also protected their names and identities, saying that she would likely ruin lives if she ever discloses any detail about them.

Regarding her role in "Basic Instinct," she discussed how was exploited by the erotic movie director. She said the director was responsible for shooting the scene where she had to uncross her legs thereby exposing her thighs on camera.

She reported that she slapped the director in the face, left for her car, and contacted her lawyer immediately.
