More than two decades after the infamous spat between Lucy Liu and Bill Murray on the set of “Charlie’s Angels,” one of the angels is giving all the deets about the incident.
Drew Barrymore spilled the tea during Tuesday’s episode of her talk show, “The Drew Barrymore Show,” in response to Liu addressing the issue in an interview months ago.
Barrymore, who starred as Dylan alongside Liu in the movie, explained why she was standing by her fellow angel as she recalled the altercation between her co-stars, saying:
What really happened was Bill was just in a — you know, comedians can be a little dark sometimes — and he just came in in a bad mood. What you have to know is how much Lucy stood up for herself and that was the great thing that came out of an unfortunate circumstance.
The show host disclosed that Liu told Murray, “I do not accept that kind of behavior from you,” and received the support and backing of everyone, after which things settled down.
The “50 First Dates” star revealed that she continues to support Liu until this day and even recorded a video and sent it to the “Why Women Kill” actress as a backup. She added that Murray’s erratic behavior was initially directed at the team, but he soon zeroed in on Liu.
Barrymore then doubled down on the importance of mutual respect in the workplace and speaking up whenever one feels disrespected.
She praised Liu’s approach to the issue and declared that she respected the actress. She also praised the team for not walking on eggshells and demanding better moving forward.

Barrymore starred alongside Liu again in the 2003 sequel of “Charlie’s Angels,” but Murray was replaced with late comedian Bernie Mac.
Liu Tells Her Side Of The Story
In July, Liu let the cat out of the bag in an interview with LA Times’ “Asian Enough” podcast. The 52-year-old recalled that she and Murray were rehearsing a scene that had been reworked while he was away for some family gathering.
However, during the rehearsal, Murray, who played Bosley, began to “hurl insults.” While she didn’t initially think he was addressing her specifically, she soon realized it, and then the altercation started.
Although she didn’t go into details about what Murray said, Liu described his words as “inexcusable and unacceptable.” However, Liu shared that she had no regret standing up for herself and handling the situation.
As for if there is bad blood between her and Murray, the actress reiterated that there wasn’t any, stating that she saw the “Ghostbusters” actor at an “SNL” reunion, and he was nice to her.
