Gabby Petito's body may have been put to rest last month, but her family continues to search for answers from Brian Laundrie, who still remains at large.

The tragic case of Gabby has yet to come to a close.

Gabby’s former fiancé is still on the loose and law enforcement officials have not been able to track him down. Dog the Bounty Hunter has enlisted himself in the search for Brian and has gotten some hot leads, but nothing pointing them in the direction of the missing Florida native.

This is the third week law enforcement officials have been searching for Laundrie after he was officially reported missing by his parents on September 17.

In a new interview with Dr. Phil, Gabby’s parent’s and step-parents plead with Laundrie to turn himself in.

When asked by the show host if the family believes Brian is hiding somewhere, they all agreed ‘Yes.’

Her father, Joe Petito, said, “I do. He’s a coward, flat out. I would use other words, but I can’t use them on your show. He’s a coward.”

Joe added, “Anyone that live in that house [the Laundrie house] is a coward and they don’t know how to stand up for their actions.”

Gabby’s step-father, James Schmidt, added, “It's almost like living in a soap opera. Like, it's just a bad show. Like, you don’t think things like this would happen in real life. It’s unfathomable.”

Gabby’s mother, Nicole Schmidt, noted the Laundrie family had the ‘key’ [Brian] and that they threw it away.

“They don’t care,” Nicole said.

Turn Yourself In, Brian!

When asked if the family had any words for Brian, they all said, “Turn yourself in.”

Gabby’s step-mom, Tara Petito, said, “If you truly loved her, you should turn yourself in.”

“You're only making it worse,” Schmidt added. “For us and for yourself and your family. Let us have some closure. Let us move on and be able to remember Gabby for all the wonderful memories had with her. Turn yourself in.”

It’s been evident from the very beginning stages of this case, when Gabby’s parents reported her missing on September 11, that the Laundrie family was not going to cooperate.

Joe and Nicole revealed the Laundrie family were completely unresponsive to text messages and phone calls when Gabby was not answering her phone and subsequently reported missing.

Nicole added, “I didn't want to admit it, but I felt it at the night I found out the van was in Florida, on [September 11]. I felt in my heart that she was gone.”

The Petito and Schmidt families held a press conference on September 28, not long after Gabby’s funeral service.

When the family lawyer was asked if there’s any new information regarding Brian’s whereabouts, and whether or his mother and father had become more cooperative in the search for their son, he said, “The Laundrie’s did not help us find Gabby. They’re sure not going to help us find Brian.”
