Willow Smith is opening up about a scary and challenging moment in her life.
During this week's episode of the famous "Red Table Talk" hosted by Willow, her mom Jada Pinkett-Smith and her grandmother Adrienne Banfield Norris, the young star spoke about a cyberstalking incident that happened to her.
The singer recalled that it happened years ago when a stalker broke into her house. Willow somberly shared in a clip of the episode:
This guy was doing that to me. And he was actually doing that to me for a couple of years, actually. He basically got my patterns. During December when we were gone for a family vacation, he actually came to my house and broke in while we were away. Crazy, crazy times.
Per TMZ, the incident happened in December 2020 when the intruder climbed a fence to gain access to Willow's property. The stalker, identified as 38-year-old Walter James Whaley, traveled all the way from Oklahoma to her home in Los Angeles.
Before the incident, Whaley had allegedly bombarded Willow with several messages on social media, saying he wanted to marry her and have kids with her.
When he entered Willow's property, he was apprehended by her security team but wasn't arrested immediately. Upon further investigation by a private investigator hired by Willow, it was discovered that Whaley is a sex offender.
In March, Willow was granted a temporary restraining order against Whaley that mandated him to always stay 100 yards away from her and stop communicating with her.
Strict Protection Measures
In the episode, Willow's mom spoke about how the family heightened safety measures after the incident. The "Girls Trip" actress revealed that Willow's home was shored up and protected.
Jada shared that after all the necessary evidence was gathered from the home, it was emptied of everything edible, from groceries in the refrigerator to even the toothpaste.
We went in and Shored everything up. We shored it up. We got you loaded and protected.
Also, vents were checked for the presence of spy cameras. In the episode of the Facebook Wach show set to air on Wednesday, the women discuss cyberstalking with guests, Flynn Adams, Jane Seymour's daughter, and Willow's cousin named Jade.
The fivesome would also talk about Jade's experience with online bullying and how Flynn almost brought danger to her life. Another woman is expected to join the show to recall how she was tricked into sending nude photos to a blackmailer.
