When people talked about Urban Meyer being a college coach, it was because his team’s play on the field in the NFL just didn’t translate well compared to what we saw from his teams in college. Those analysts never thought though that the coach spent some much time on college because he loves frat parties! At least that’s what can be inferred from the pictures that surfaced over the weekend. In them, we can see Meyer with a look that denotes the fact that he’d had at least a few beers. With some dance moves that a 50 plus-year-old football coach probably shouldn’t be doing in public.
What Urban Meyer Is Saying Happened
According to the coach’s side of the story, he stayed behind in Ohio not flying back with the team to Florida after their loss to the Bengals. Urban has family members in the area where he used to live while coaching Ohio State University.
Along with the family members he also has a restaurant in town, which he attended Friday after the Thursday game. He claims that folks at the restaurant asked to take pictures with him and asked him to dance with them. In hindsight, Urban’s mentioned that’s not the best idea.

Just What Type of Dancing Was Going On
A famous football coach potentially intoxicated at his own restaurant would’ve made some headlines. It’s the alleged lap dance and the “dancing” too close to some ladies that were not near his age group that totally blew up this story! A video of Urban with his back to the bar with a blonde young lady getting a bit too up close and personal with the coach made the rounds on social media. Even though the social media blackout Urban Meyer has had to face the backlash!

Owning Up To Incident
Meyer said on Monday that he had apologized to the team for “being a distraction.” He also took the full blame for the incident telling the media in Jacksonville at his regular press conference about his behavior,
“Just stupid, and so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. Should not have myself in that kind of position.”
The problem for Meyer is that more and more pictures from the night keep popping up on social media. Including one where it seems he’s doing some illegal touching. A flag on the play is the last of his worries. Divorce papers or a lawsuit could be coming his way any time soon!
The Owner Of The Team Also Addressed The Situation
Coach Meyer is in his first year as head coach of the team. As of right now, it doesn’t seem like his job is in jeopardy. At least not from the statement that was put out by his boss, team owner Shad Khan. Khan admitted that he had talked to Meyer about the incident, but insisted that their conversation was to remain private. He did though address the incident itself saying,
“What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable. I appreciate Urban’s remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect.”
In addition to potentially bracing for any legal action against him, Meyer will probably be facing some type of disciplinary action from the NFL. The league tends to take these matters very seriously. At the moment there has been no official stance from the league on the situation.
