One look at stunning actress Salma Hayek and it becomes very clear that she is clearly winning the genetics game. At fifty-three she looks ten times better than women half her age, and she has no problems with the aging process. However, Hayek has always been outspoken about who she is and the things she’s been through. And now she’s opening up about the process of aging, which is something we all have to go through whether we’re famous or not.
Since her beginning on the Mexican telenovela Teresa fans have been in love with the beautiful Salma Hayek for years. Her star only increased with time as she appeared as bad ass female characters in Desperado, Wild, Wild West and From Dusk till Dawn, a classic film written by Quentin Tarrantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Following those successful roles in 2002 Hayek produced and starred in Frida, a movie based on the life of legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.
For her role in Frida Hayek received nominations for Best Actress for the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award. She continued by acting and producing from that point on as well as being praised as one of the greatest actresses of our generation. And even though Hayek shines in many dramatic roles she’s also been known to portray her comedic side just as well. And that’s not an easy feat to execute for any actor.
Hayek’s fans will remember her time as Alec Baldwin’s love interest on NBC’s hilarious comedy 30 Rock as well as her Emmy award-nominated performance on ABC’s Ugly Betty. However, the role Hayek is proudest of is as wife and mother, and Celebrity Insider reports that when it comes to everything going on in her life she values getting older and does not want to shy away from it. Plus, Hayek has never been one to become quiet or not go after what she wants.
In regards to turning 53 and being in Hollywood Hayek revealed;
“In America, they used to tell actresses they expired at 30,” she said. “That’s why I was scared. Now I don’t care about getting older. When I turned 40 and then 50, I didn’t mind at all.”
But although aging doesn’t bother her she does still hold onto one gripe about getting older.
“The worst part of the aging process has been my eyes,” she told Hola! in 2017. “Not the wrinkles — the eyes themselves. I’m such a visual person and [now] I cannot read without depending on glasses.”
Even in glasses Hayek is stunning and aging nicely. And as long as she continues charming audiences with her talent they’ll be sure to continue falling in love with her.
