Akon Reveals Plans On Running For President in 2024 -- With Kanye??

Politics have gone completely off the rails for the past few years with everyone believing they have a shot at running for office. And if our society has learned anything from our current political situation in America it's that anything is possible. Perhaps it's this same style of thinking that has motivated international star, Akon, to throw his hat into the ring for an upcoming presidential election. And why not? He already has a background that qualifies him for the position.

For years Akon has been helping to revitalize and empower many African nations through his Akon Lighting Africa initiative. Since 2014 Akon and his vast team have been providing electricity by solar energy to many African countries, including Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Benin and Sierra Leone, so his leadership qualities are already intact. He's also provided aid to political powerhouses throughout the African continent, so it would stand to reason that he has what it takes to be a contender.

However, if you're thinking Akon is ready to join the current three-ring circus that is the 2020 election think again. Akon has his sights set on the 2024 election, and he's encouraging Kanye West to come along for the ride. According to Celebrity Insider Akon recently sat down with the ladies of daytime talk show The Real to discuss his political aspirations. And they were more than receptive to hear what he had to say, which included a nod towards Kanye's potential presidential run.

During his inspirational interview with the ladies of The Real Akon had this to say;

"I know what the issues are, and as a person, as an immigrant, as a black man, as whatever you want to call it. I kind of know or feel like I know that I can take the country and move it forward." He then went on to talk about how he is currently advising 30 African presidents, and how it is based on the development of the youth.

It didn't stop there though. The Shade Room reports Akon was asked about Kanye West, who has also revealed his own political aspirations, and whether or not he would be Akon's main competition. However, Akon doesn't see it that way.

“Well I don’t think it would be a competition, I honestly need him to run.” He proceeded, “Kanye is not crazy, he’s just be awakened. From a spiritual state, I just feel like he’s awake now. Now he’s the most amazing marketer in the world. He understands his audience, but he’s definitely not crazy, he knows what he’s doing. My thing is, if he does run, it’s great for the culture. Now if you think he’s not fit, that’s another thing, that’s why you got me as another choice.”
