“I’m from Salt Lake City so this was like Christmas for me!” the reality TV star exclaimed to Page Six. "I asked [Cohen], I was like, ‘What do you think about it?’ And he was like, ‘It’s going to be so good.’ And I’m not even shocked by that because people that were raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, are crazy. So it’s gonna make the best TV ever. Out of all these cities and they picked my hometown. I’m like, I told them, ‘Ladies, put on for my city. Please!'”

Other fans expressed excitement for the new show. "What could be better than Mormon drama?” a loyal fan tweeted. “Just in time for the Sundance Film Festival in Park City,” an excited fan wrote. “[It] should be interesting to watch the ladies in their cowboy hats and ski boots.” “It’s not just Mormons here,” a person from Salt Lake City explained. “We have a really strong LGBTQ community and lots of different types of people.” Other fans weren't as thrilled about the new show. “I’m bored already,” one follower said.

“Yeah, I won’t be watching that one either,” [an upset fan tweeted.] (https://twitter.com/hawkins_tillman/status/1195755950692544512) “You should have chosen someplace like New Orleans, add some class to these shows. I would say South Carolina but we already have the wonderful, ahem, Southern Charm.” “I’m over all of The Real Housewives,” another upset viewer tweeted. “I watched all of them from day one but after manipulation from the RHOBH Mean Girls against Lisa Vandeprump, I’m done with all of them. [The] franchise has jumped the shark.”

Andy Cohen defended the new location choice. “We’ve always tried to choose a city that has completely unique personalities and we also try to throw a little curveball now and then. Pick somewhere you weren’t expecting,” said the show’s producer Cohen, according to People magazine. “We are very excited to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah!...It is gorgeous and I think you’re going to be really surprised and intrigued by the group of women we’ve found." Bravo weighed in on the feedback. “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City takes viewers into an undiscovered world that is about so much more than religion, although the Mormon church is undeniably ingrained in the culture,” the network said in a statement.
