Derek Hough experienced unbearable pain in his abdomen yesterday that required emergency surgery and his fans have been there for him. He explained the pain as “severe” and “sharp." They happened in the middle of the night around 3 AM. That's when he went to the hospital and found out he had appendicitis. "Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, a finger-shaped pouch that projects from your colon on the lower right side of your abdomen," as stated by Mayo Clinic.

"Appendicitis causes pain in your lower right abdomen. However, in most people, pain begins around the navel and then moves." Hough found out he'd have to go into surgery immediately. [WebMD explains,] (https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis#1) "It's a medical emergency that almost always requires surgery as soon as possible to remove the appendix. Luckily, you can live just fine without it." After the surgery, Hough to took to Instagram and left his fans the best possible gift despite the circumstances: a loopy post-anesthetic video.
