More than five years since we were blessed with the glorious “25,” it seems Adele is back from her hiatus to serenade our ears, or at least that is what everyone thinks!
Over the past few days, the internet has experienced quite the frenzy, and rightfully so, after speculations surfaced that Adele’s fourth studio album, “30,” is coming soon. Here’s looking at all the theories hinting at the album drop.
It All Began With Billboards
On Friday, October 1, Rolling Stone reported sightings of billboards with the number 30 in several noteworthy locations in major cities across the world.
Some of the sightings included the top of the Empire State Building in New York, outside the Louvre in Paris, Camden street in Dublin, and the Colosseum in Rome. At the time, neither the singer nor her management addressed the speculations.
Shortly after the billboards were up, Billboard reported that radio host Mauler, known for the shows “The Morning Hot Tub” and “Stingray Hit List Countdown,” wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “New Adele. This Week.”

And while we didn’t hear anything from the London native, it seems she only turned up the heat.
Social Media Change And Website Update
Just when fans thought the billboards were causing tension, Adele pressed necks with two major updates today. First, the 15-time Grammy Award winner updated her website Adele.com to include a signup link for her fans.
Then, she changed her Twitter header and Instagram profile picture to a blue-themed picture that matches the billboards erected earlier.
Of course, Twitter netizens wasted no time in taking over the sphere with “Adele Is Back” trending on the platform and an arsenal of hilarious memes depicting her glorious comeback flooding everywhere.

Even Taylor Swift Had A Role To Play!
Further intensifying the rumors, it was reported that Taylor Swift shifted the release of “Red (Taylor’s Version)” from November 19 to November 12. It is believed that the sudden change was done to accommodate Adele’s album release.
It’s not unusual that Adele’s fourth studio album would be named 30, following in the footsteps of her previous works, “19,” “21,” and “25.” The singer is known to name her albums after the age where she wrote and produced them.
“30” particularly holds much significance and draws high expectations, giving that it was a monumental age for the songstress.
Although Adele is now 33, her highly publicized split from her ex-husband Simon Konecki happened when she was 30. After three years of marriage, the pair called it quit in 2019, and their divorce was finalized in March 2021.
In 2019, Adele teased her upcoming album while celebrating her 31st birthday. While reflecting on the past year, the singer wrote that 30 was difficult for her before adding, “30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.”
We sure can’t wait to be spited!
