Looks like Nina Dobrev has been busy!

While most of the entertainment industry was on lockdown during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Dobrev and her boyfriend, Olympic snowboarder Shaun White, 35, were busy getting to work.

Dobrev, 32, decided to spend her time in lockdown completing a few DIY projects and remodeled her stunning West Hollywood home all on her own!

The "Degrassi" star first bought the Spanish-style home five years ago, when it sported a mustard yellow exterior. With nothing but time on her hands, Dobrev decided to give the abode a facelift and inject some of her own personal touches into the house's signature character.

She admitted that they were “really excited” during the first few days of the massive undertaking, but the reality of their project quickly caught up to them.

“By day three of four and into the first month, I was like, ‘What have I gotten myself into?’” she shared. “But it turned out beautiful so I’m happy I did it.”

A Personal Touch

Dobrev also added a few more personal touches, including a Ross Couper photograph taken while she was filming in South Africa, an Ikebana Japanese flower arrangement, and a David Bowie print, which was a gift from White.

She also detailed the home with her bold style, such as adding green cabinets and mismatched pillows, to show off her signature charm.

Dobrev, who has filmed in movie and television projects around the world, also included a varied assortment of furniture and decor from Canada, Italy, France, and several other countries.

Although she has made the house her own, Dobrev still wanted to keep some of the foundational aspects of the home the same in order to preserve the characteristics she fell in love with when she first decided to purchase it.

For example, Dobrev decided not to remodel the "creaky" wood floors or the blue-tiled bathroom. She also wants to maintain her dining room's original white crown molding and some of the house's "imperfections."

A Quarantine Romance

Dobrev first started dating White in February 2020, just as lockdown began, and went public with their relationship in May after posting White shared a video of Dobrev chopping off his locks. He captioned the video, “My hairstylist said he wouldn’t, so she did. #QuarantineCuts.”

Dobrev had previously been linked with her "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore). The show, which ran for seven seasons on the CW, was known for its supernatural thrills and teenage love triangles.

Although their characters were still dating on the show, she and Somerhalder ended their relationship after dating for several years. It is rumored that this is the reason why she left the show in season 6. However, she did return for the finale to give Elena Gilbert a proper send-off and provide fans with some much-needed closure.

Somerhalder later went on to marry one of Dobrev's close friends, "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed. The two welcomed their daughter Bodhi Soleil in 2017.
