'Peloton' star Cody Rigsby has just tested positive for COVID-19 a second time, and the show is allowing for him to compete on 'Dancing With The Stars' virtually!
The legendary dancing bike trainer announced this morning that he tested positive for Coronavirus, along with his 'DWTS' partner Cheryl Burke. Shockingly, it didn't completely wreck the duo's upcoming performance, after it was announced they will dance virtually together from their own homes.
Obviously, this is unprecedented for the competition show, and it's unclear exactly how they are going to pull this thing off.
Cody Rigsby & Cheryl Burke Dancing 'Virtually' From Their Living Rooms!
"I'm feeling okay," Rigsby said. Adding, "I'm so excited to dance for Britney week on 'Dancing with the Stars,' one way or the other. The universe is crazy. Sometimes it just throws things in your lap and you gotta just go with it."
"We're going to be doing it from the comfort of our own home," Burke told GMA. She continued, "Look at that. I've turned our living room into a ballroom."
Cody announced his COVID status on Instagram, posting a video that begins with him admitting this is not something he "wants to be sharing."
"I have tested positive for COVID again, the second time this year," he began. In the video, Cody explains he is experiencing some symptoms which include headache, cough, and mild congestion -- although he admitted it is not nearly as bad as the virus he contracted in February. "So that must be the vaccine antibodies working, we're super grateful for that," he added.
'Peloton' Star: I Am Fully Vaccinated, And Took Many Precautions
"Hi friends, I wanted to check in with you to share some news. While I am fully vaccinated and took many precautions, following CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID-19. To properly rest and recover as well as avoid exposing others, I will be taking a break in the coming days. I appreciate all your support and I'll be back as soon as I am ready," Cody captioned the video.
Obviously, there is no telling how this virtual dance session is going to go -- especially since Cody and Cheryl are experiencing symptoms. Plus, will the judges actually give them a fair shake on how the performance went by themselves? We will have to wait and see!
Of course, Cody's fans and friends are flooding his Instagram with a ton of get-well messages including one who wrote, "Love u so much boo. Holding u in love. Heal fast." Another added, "Ughh so sorry to hear this! Feel better and know we stay rooting for you."
Bad Timing! Cody Rigsby's COVID Diagnosis Come During 'DWTS' Britney Spears Week
"Love you, Cody! sending you all the healthy and positive vibes," a fan added.
It should be noted, this is a terrible time for Cody and Cheryl not to be included in the full production of 'DWTS.' The reason is simple -- Cody is a HUGE Britney Spears fan and if you take his classes on Peloton you know that 'Britney Week' is the perfect time for him to put in a huge score!
