Kelly Clarkson Collects A HUGE Win In Ongoing Divorce With Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson just received a huge win in her ongoing divorce with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, after a judge signed the order officially upholding their prenuptial agreement.

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the couple bifurcated the issue of the validity of their prenup and argued their positions in front of a family law judge. As you know, Brandon was challenging the pre-marital contract, which was a huge deal considering the former couple's huge amount of wealth and property.

In the order, the court rejected the notion that all property and assets acquired during the marriage were owned by the couple 50/50. Instead, the prenup called for any property and money Kelly brought into the marriage would remain solely her own. Plus, any property the two acquired while married also belongs to Clarkson.

The court found that the couple's Montana Ranch and two other parcels of land in the same state WILL be subject to the prenup.

As you can imagine, this is a HUGE deal in Clarkson's ongoing divorce because there is a massive amount of money on the line.

As we reported, Kelly Clarkson, who is repped by famous lawyer Laura Wasser, got an email back in August about the judge upholding her contested prenup while on the set of 'The Voice.' But, this week's final order signed by the judge is the final straw in a very important moment, in the ongoing case.

We broke the story, a judge temporarily ruled that Clarkson will pay Blackstock almost $200,000 a month in spousal and child support. It included $150,000 a month in spousal support and another $45,601 in child support. BUT, after the judge formally upheld the prenup, the amount of spousal support will be subject to the contract. Also, the couple will now have to negotiate a child support amount which will be ongoing. Again, a huge win.

Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020, after almost seven years of marriage. The ex-couple shares two children, 7-year old River Rose, and 5-year-old Remington Alexander.

It should be noted, Kelly also won temporarily won primary custody of her two children. The 38-year-old singer is living in Los Angeles while filming her talk show. So, the children are staying with their mother in Los Angeles. Blackstock is currently living full-time at the couple's Montana ranch -- and says his full-time employment is working as a rancher.

At this point, the former couple will continue negotiating a long-term custody and child support agreement. Again, it pays to have a good team of attorneys!

Not shockingly, Kelly revealed she has written over 60 songs during the divorce process but claims she might never release them.

"I have this record that we're working on. It's really great and really honest," Clarkson told Entertainment Tonight.

She continued, "There's just a lot of questions that I have to answer before releasing it for myself, you know? Whether that be business-wise or personally or whatever. Whatever happens though, it is such a gift. Like, I don't know how anybody, I'll just be real with you, goes through grief like divorce, any kind of grief, any kind of loss, without having an outlet like this."

The case is ongoing.
