Slate's special mixes quirky on-stage moments with real-life documentary of her family that has helped her become the wacky person she is. Her special is one of the rare few that mixes mind-numbing comedy with real-life issues that plague most of us and ultimately make her relatable.

Slate is a bubbly woman with a high libido, who can rock a full black satin outfit, who gets serious stage fright and that is perfectly okay.

The special starts with Jenny being her awkward self and referring to herself as a turtle on roller skates who just learned that she can go fast, followed by a high pitched squeal. This will not be the only time you will hear her glorious vocal range and you will be more than okay with that.

Alongside her vocal range, she also does the best impression of her grandmother, Nannie Connie. She manages to imitate her to a perfect T.

A huge part of her special is not only her humor but her ability to show her raw emotions. She documents and interviews her family about what it was like growing up, but also the turmoils Jenny has faced and why Jenny is Jenny. Mixed with her own raw thoughts on why she still can not bring herself to go all the way in talking about her divorce.

She resonates with many about being alone after a breakup and asking the question of what it means about yourself.

Slate alongside being a horny adult women, who during adolescent could be turned on by absolutely anything, has some serious childhood stories.

For example, her family lived in a haunted house that often included random ghosts to hang out in their home. Jenny was more than happy to see the house be sold.

"Stage Fright" is not only about Slate being humorous but about emotions we all go through and plague our minds by asking how we deal with them.
