How would you feel if you grew up knowing your parents wouldn’t leave you a penny? Would it make you feel proud of your independence or envious of their ‘fortune’? Some famous kids are preparing to make their own way because their parents will not hand them anything on a silver platter.
First off on the list is Gordon Ramsay, the food God. One of the biggest names in British restaurant history, the father of four has no plans of leaving his kids anything at all, except a 25% percent on their flat to what he reluctantly agreed with for his wife, Tana.
“They will sit in economy flights, and I and Tana would hop onto first class. It is not going to be given to them just like that. I worked hard for it and they would have to too.” Ramsay had had to work 15 tough years in order to establish a name for himself.
“I earned a fortune working my way. I respect everything I have got. I am not going to spoil my kids by just handing everything over to them without them having to work for it.” That’s a whopping $300 million, all for him and his wife.
Bill And Melinda Gates
Next up are the very famous Bill Gates and Melinda Gates. The Microsoft mastermind has a stupendous net worth of over $102.5 billion. Phew, that’s zeros some can’t even count. The keen philanthropist has great plans of leaving all his wealth for charitable causes.
Bill and his wife Melinda run the largest charitable foundation in the world- The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which helps people live healthy and productive lives.
Gates could be considered slightly generous compared to others on the list since he plans to set aside $10 million for each of his kids. “I definitely think leaving kids massive amounts of money is not a favor to them.”, is what Bill stands by.
Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are modern-day examples of celebrities that are not willing to ‘spoil’ their children. Both of them are well-renowned actors with an incredibly unique dating history.
Their collective income of $200 million will find its way to charitable donations, at least the bigger part of it. Having said that, Ashton says that he will be more than willing to put forth whatever it is that it takes if his kids were to bring on the table an incredible business plan. Well, that’s something to look forward to, no?
Following the same principle is the iconic singer Sting. The 16-time Grammy-winning artist has a net worth of $300 million, not a penny of which is going to pass along to his six children.
The well-established singer has a rather smart take on the whole leave-me-something-too-dad thing. He says that he and his wife spend all the money that comes in and so there is not going to be a lot left for him to pass on.
”I don’t want to leave them trust funds around their necks. They have to learn how to work and make for themselves.” The singer does seem to respect and highly appreciate the fact that his children rarely ask him for anything. “Maybe they are learning already.”, he proudly says.
