An explosive hearing in Britney Spears' ongoing conservatorship just ended with her father being officially removed from the case, pending its complete dismissal.
At this moment, Brintey's legal team just gathered in an L.A. County Courthouse to decide Jamie Spears' fate and if a judge will allow for this case to end once and for all. We're told Mathew Rosengart is asking the court to set a hearing in the next 30-45 days to end the conservatorship.
The judge made the monumental decision of "suspending" Jaime Spears from the case until a complete dismissal of the conservatorship can be decided. Inside the courtroom, the judge said it is in Britney's best interest for her father to be tossed from the case.
Jamie Spears 'Suspended' From Conservatorship, Pending It's Overall Dismissal
This is a huge moment, considering no one has ever put a timeline on when this thing might come to an end. As you know, Britney has been under a conservatorship for over 13 years and is fighting for her freedom.
As expected, Britney's team asked the judge to kick out her father from the conservatorship, citing what he called "abuse" over the past few years. As we reported, Jamie Spears is accused of working with a security team to secretly record audio inside of the pop star's private bathroom -- specifically conversations with her children. In legal documents, Rosengart called the situation, “horrifying and unconscionable invasions of his adult daughter’s privacy.”
Specifically, the allegation is that they "ran an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored [Ms. Spears’s] communications’ and also evidently captured attorney-client communications with her prior lawyer, which communications are a sacrosanct part of the legal system.”

"Unauthorized recording or monitoring of Britney’s private communications … represent an unconscionable and disgraceful violation of her privacy rights and a striking example of the deprivation of her civil liberties,” Rosengart said in a statement.
At this point, the judge will not only decide whether or not to end the conservatorship but if to do it without a medical evaluation. In most cases, a group of doctors would weigh in on the decision to clear someone who is mentally ill. A major factor might be if the person is properly medicated.

Also, IF the judge decides to remove Jamie Spears from the case, she would need to decide if the person who was nominated by Britney's team is good enough to appoint at the same time. Mr. Spears filed documents claiming this person might not be experienced enough to take on the job, because they would essentially need to "hit the ground running."
Unfortunately, the judge might take the conservatorship dismissal under advisement and not make a decision today. Obviously, many fans and supporters of Britney Spears are hoping that something happens immediately and they are letting their voices be heard. We are inside the courtroom, and the area is crawling with members of the #FreeBritney movement, who are pushing for her father to be tossed. Plus, they want Britney released ASAP!
