Beth Chapman is recovering in Los Angeles following a 12-hour surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her neck.

Sources close to Beth and her husband, Duane "Dog The Bounty Hunter" Chapman, tell The Blast that Beth had to be cut ear-to-ear to remove the plum-sized tumor from her neck.

We're told the Chapmans are worried about the prognosis and are anxiously awaiting the pathology results to see if she's out of the woods.

The Chapmans revealed earlier this month that Beth was diagnosed with stage II throat cancer. Our sources say the tumor was discovered by accident and the surgery to remove it was scheduled shortly thereafter.

Sources close to the Chapmans say Dog is very upset and shaken by the ordeal, but the couple is trusting in God and praying for the best.

To make matters more difficult, we're told Beth's dog Delilah recently passed away back in Hawaii. Chapman is not yet cleared to fly back to Hawaii, though she's been begging her doctors to let her go home.

We're told Chapman messaged friends, saying, "My very precious baby died she just waited and waited but mommy never came ... Im [sic] sick with grief from the loss of my fur baby Delilah...you were a good ol road dog girl .. Ill love and miss you forever."
