Dan Schneider recently filed a lawsuit against the production companies behind the 'Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV' docuseries, claiming it falsely portrayed him as a sexual predator.

As The Blast has reported, Schneider was accused of various behaviors during his time with the network, including, but not limited to, creating a toxic work environment, verbal abuse, racism, favoritism, and inappropriate behavior toward young actors.

Now, the former Nickelodeon producer has broken his silence, explaining why he is taking legal action.

According to The Blast's previous report, the lawsuit, filed by Schneider's attorneys Jana Moser and Richard McKie, states “‘Quiet on Set’s’ portrayal of Schneider is a hit job."

"While it is indisputable that two bona fide child sexual abusers worked on Nickelodeon shows, it is likewise indisputable that Schneider had no knowledge of their abuse, was not complicit in the abuse, condemned the abuse once it was discovered and, critically, was not a child sexual abuser himself," the suit added.

Schneider says the companies behind the docuseries falsely portrayed him as a sexual predator and indicated that he sexually abused the child actors on some of his shows, including 'The Amanda Show' and 'Zoey 101,' which he says is simply untrue.

Following the news of the lawsuit, Schneider released a statement, which was shared with The Blast.

"Recently the docuseries 'Quiet on Set' highlighted mistakes I made and poor judgment I exhibited during my time at Nickelodeon, most of which happened decades ago during my early career as a producer, working on shows for Tollin/Robbins Productions," the former Nickelodeon producer shared. "There is no doubt that I was sometimes a bad leader. I am sincerely apologetic and regretful for that behavior, and I will continue to take accountability for it."

Schneider had previously apologized for offending anyone who ever worked for him, admitting that his past behaviors were "embarrassing."

Schneider went on to claim that "after seeing 'Quiet on Set' and its Trailer, and the reactions to them, [he] sadly [has] no choice but to take legal action against the people behind it."

"In their successful attempt to mislead viewers and increase ratings, they went beyond reporting the truth and falsely implied that I was involved in or facilitated horrific crimes for which actual child predators have been prosecuted and convicted," the former Nickelodeon producer stated. "I have no objection to anyone highlighting my failures as a boss, but it is wrong to mislead millions of people to the false conclusion that I was in any way involved in heinous acts like those committed by child predators."

"I owe it to myself, my family, and the many wonderful people involved in making these shows to set the record straight," Schneider concluded.

Plus, 'Zoey 101' star Alexa Nikolas said that Schneider’s set was “traumatizing" and that he was in the costume room as she tried on outfits, claiming that he kept Polaroids of her in the outfits.

Nikolas goes on to claim that Schneider “handpicked” miniskirts for her to wear on the show, which she says were “so short” that the costume designers had to give her shorts to wear underneath.

In response to the allegations, Schneider has previously claimed, “I never interacted with actors in any way, texting or otherwise, that should make anyone uncomfortable.”
